All TOWA members are cordially invited to attend the 61st Annual Conference of the Texas Outdoor Writers Association.
For the second year we are planning a dual-track educational program. We have speakers from organizations on the front lines of conservation who bring a fresh perspective on the topic of conservation in Texas. This year’s theme is “The Good News – Texas Conservation” and the subject matter covers habitat reclamation and also emerging eco-friendly technologies in agriculture, industry, and energy production.
Seminar speakers will include: Kirby Brown with Ducks Unlimited, Carleton Turner with the Texas Bighorn Society, John Shepherd with the Texas Foundation for Conservation, TOWA student chapter leader Hailey Boeck, Gaye McElwain with the Texas Railroad Commission, and Tim Kleinschmidt with the Texas Department of Agriculture.
And while we plan to work hard, we won’t miss the opportunity to kick back and relax at this year’s Friday Night Roast where we plan to have a little good natured fun with our friend and long-time member Kendal Hemphill; and get out to see some of what makes Corpus Christi one of the most attractive cities on the Coastal Bend.
The event will take place at the Radisson Corpus Christi Beach Hotel which is on the beach next door to the USS Lexington Museum and within walking distance to the Texas State Aquarium and shopping and entertainment opportunities.
Make your plans now to support your association by attending the Annual Conference. You’ll meet members of our new TOWA student chapters, new professional members, and have an opportunity to thank our sponsors for supporting our association for 61 years!
Registration and dues may be paid online from the TOWA store
